Avocados are flooding the market- everyone is raving about this 'superfood.' Many have claimed avocados are a little green bombshells packed with nutrients that claim to help with every health ailment out there from cramps to healthy hair to skincare and more.
But, are the health benefits just a passing fad? Are avocados really good for your skin?
This green fruit is dense and creamy referred to as ‘nature’s butter.’ It is an excellent source of around twenty minerals and vitamins. Vitamins include vitamin B,C, E, K, riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, potassium, omega-3 fatty acids and other anti-aging antioxidants.
Eating avocado on a daily basis will help improve your skin from within! But, when applied to directly to your skin, the power of this little green fruit can work wonders!

Face Mask Recipes
Avocado, Honey and Yogurt
The method: Mash up a ½ of an avocado and add a tablespoon of honey and yogurt. Mix well and apply to skin after cleansing. Relax. Leave on for 15-20 minutes or until it has hardened. Rinse off with water.
The benefits: The lactic acid in the yoghurt helps restore the natural ph balance of skin. It tightens pores and gives your face a more youthful appearance.
Avocado, Banana, and Egg Yolk
The method: Mix together ½ ripe banana, 1 egg yolk and ½ avocado to form a paste and smear on skin. Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes then rinse.
The benefits: Bananas contain a high level of vitamin C which help keep skin’s elasticity and smoothness. They also contain vitamin A which moisturize deeply. Egg yolks contain good fats which help plump the skin adding suppleness. It also contains retinol which is a strong anti-aging ingredient.
Avocado, Egg White and Lemon
The method: Whisk 1 egg white until frothy. Combine with ½ mashed avocados with lemon juice and mix to form a paste. Apply to freshly cleansed skin. Leave on until dry, then rinse off with water. Due to the acidity of lemon avoid getting the mixture near the eyes.
The benefits: Lemon contains antibacterial ingredients including vitamin C which fight against oily skin. Egg whites help tighten skin. This powerful combo is perfect for fighting acne.
